About: My Journey

I am Fetiyah Remendan Ahmed, an American citizen born in Dire Dawa, Ethiopia. My greatest joy and accomplishment is being the mother of three beautiful children, one of whom has reached adulthood. Fluent in Oromo, Amharic, Somali, and English. I’ve navigated life’s challenges with resilience and determination.

My academic journey at Coastal Community College and the founding of Rise Above Abuse Now (NPO-RAAN) reflect my unwavering commitment to advocacy. As a survivor of child abuse, rape, human trafficking, and domestic violence, my personal experiences fuel my passion for helping others. I am dedicated to championing the cause for those who have endured similar atrocities.

Through NPO-RAAN, I strive to create a world where societal awareness, prevention, and justice prevail against all forms of abuse. Our organization focuses on supporting victims of domestic violence and human trafficking, with a special emphasis on children affected by sexual abuse in both America and Ethiopia. I aim to be a voice for the unheard and a beacon of hope for many.

Looking ahead, I plan to expand NPO-RAAN and continue my impactful discussions on "Colorful Voices of Sisterhood," a talk show that brings multicultural perspectives to pressing societal issues. I also use modeling and pageantry to amplify my mission, raising awareness and driving change.

My life experiences have taught me the importance of service. I am devoted to my Creator, family, and community, finding joy in caring for the elderly and meeting their daily needs. My journey of survival and empowerment is a testament to the strength and compassion that can transform the world.

If there is one Ethiopian child running from home because of sexual abuse, religious incarceration, politics, ethnic war, lack of education, and chronic hunger due to poverty, hungry, then who is suppose to change the country? We are in desperate need for a healing in the land. There is a cry to make this world a better place and to make this country a place to run to because we are building a better place to make the country better. The next generation starting now is a better place; for we speak those things as though they are.

We who are blessed with the God given precious gift of children  should count it an honor to cherish, love, value and protect each one separately and as a whole. Keep The Children Safe, Keep Our Children Safe.
